A clandestine, hilarious homage to Andy Warhol's "Chelsea Girls", the film concerns the dalliances of a group of sociologically retarded New Yorkers.
Joe Wakeman and I are raising money to make our latest multi-hour opus, "Chelsea Boys"! For years, separately, Joe and I have been making films for no money (give or take our hellish experience having a producer on our film "Red Room" this last summer!) and have been consistently putting out good, no-budget work (just being objective!) for years. This time we want to make a film together for BARELY any money! Baby steps! Considering what we're able to achieve for free, we're certain that even the smallest of donations (which would go towards the odd rented lighting equipment here and there, bundles of DV tapes, and maybe even some CGI!) would propel "Chelsea Boys" into a veritable artistic stratosphere!
There will be no higher philosophical or moral backbone to the film, only an (arguably exploitative and impartial) documentary look at the very best of society's marginalized! It will be self-consciously taboo with lots of sexy girls and boys drinking, dancing and waxing poetic about our current economic climate. In short, a veritable (and debatably artistic) wankfest of hare-brained schemes and ideas...and times two! You won't know where to look!
Since the film's conscious attempts to be controversial and our single-minded pursuit of a 3 hour length (at least) WILL succeed (take a look at the directors' current output!), the film will no doubt shake the foundations of the underground film festival circuit to their core and BE SEEN. Anyone who donates is guaranteed an invitation to appear in the film (should they choose to want one and can arrange for their own travel) which will indisputably not be cut from the final product. Larger donations ensure an executive producer credit and a free DVD of the finished product!
