Dear friends,

The very last package* has been mailed today at last, and so this is the end of this particular project and my last update for it :) I'll only post here again next year or so, when I'm ready to launch a new one for part 5, so that you're notified of it.

I think by now everybody has received their silkscreens, so if nobody needs a replacement I will soon put up the handful of leftover extra copies up for sale, unnumbered, on a shop page I've had in mind for a while, for original sketches and other experimental creations to support the comic.

Hello everyone!

This update is mostly to tell you that part V has begun: I posted the first two pages on the Malaak blog today. If you wish, you can follow it by subscribing to the RSS feed or via email (top right on the page). I'm doing some changes to the website to reflect the update, and am thinking of adding a shop page where I'd post things like the handful of extra silkscreens I have left, and actual original drawings, to support the comic. At the very least, it'll give me an incentive to try my hand at watercolors again. I won't be using the updates here for what's new on the site though; in fact I only have one last update to post, in 3 weeks once the last packages are mailed. (And one next year when part 5 is ready to print!)

I'm counting the days till London (18 days!) , and those last few packages are already piled in my suitcase. So sorry again for this delay. Ironically, I can no longer find the right size envelopes for the comics or for the originals which I'm mailing flat (solidly protected by cardboard), so I'll have to pick them up there. Every little thing is becoming a struggle :P

Dear friends,

I'm back in Beirut now and today is the big day where Malaak IV gets launched with the appropriate to-do! We also managed to release the revised iPad app in time with the new chapter.

I have been writing chapter 5 and I'm excited to start drawing again, though I need to plan much of the last 2 chapters before I start, since the threads of the story are all entwined now.

This update is mainly to inform you of the status of the packages. All "The High Ones" prints have been mailed, including a replacement for one that got pinched en route (I'll take that as a compliment). I have a few extras to cover such "accidents", so if you don't receive yours within a week or so please let me know.

A few packages remained behind and are still with me: due to weight restrictions I couldn't take them all with me, and had arranged for a friend to bring the rest with him, but he never made it to London in the end. Ouch! So I'm arranging for other "carrier pigeons" as I find them, and the delay should not be too bad. In the worst case, I'll be back in the UK myself in about 6 weeks.

The reason I'm not mailing them from here is the properly insane increase in postal costs that hit me when I mailed a single comic, locally, for near $10, and the rising breach of privacy that's making me uncomfortable, as they take my phone number and a photocopy of my ID whenever I mail something made of more than one sheet of paper (they also open and check every envelope). However, should anyone who didn't receive their goods want their package mailed without delay, please let me know and I'll get it done within the week. As you can see this is a long-term issue I'm trying to find a solution to!

Emails to those who pledged for cameos will go out soon :) And finally, I got the materials I needed in London for the original inked pages, so I'll start work on those soon as well!

Hello everyone,

I'm in London now and I've been keeping the post office busy! About 3/4th of the packages have been mailed so far, and almost all the silkscreens. I hope you like what you get! This done, there will only be the original pages left, and I'll also contact those of you who pledged for a cameo.
