Two Great Men: Jessi and Craig and a tale of wonder...
Have you ever wondered...if the crap suddenly shot up several notches on the 'tastic' meter, could it be possible to survive and get by asking all your social media friends to donate a couple of dollars to your life? A dollar here, a dollar there?
C'mon, admit it, you've wondered what would happen and I'll bet if you're like me, you've even entertained some niggling suspicions that by doing this you might not only scrape by...but you might actually thrive, living high on the hog, more flush with cash than ever before... easy, effortless, money...all yours...all just for asking for it.
Well, personally, I'm now certain beyond a doubt that this will never be a reality for me. No, this project has taught me that, at best, I could probably expect about enough to buy a partially-eaten Slim Jim. This is hard work! Luckily there are bright spots...like my pals Jessi Baughman (http://www.kickstarter.com/profile/jabbz) and Craig Phillips who both gave so generously that I'm terrified they are out knocking over Sunglasses Huts in their local malls. Actually, I'm kidding, I know they're just two dudes that recognize value and a potential for heretofore unseen levels of entertainment glory. Thanks guys! There are no words. Amazing.
At the end of the day, it boils down to this: guys like Jessi and Craig, they know what they want. They want something new and amazing and weird and savagely funny. They are also smart enough to know anything new is rare and that anything rare costs money. They know they have to pay for it. But they're not just giving money away for free...they're paying to help create a new genre of entertainment...and, if nothing else, to put some good, heavy metal deposits away in the old laugh bank with the hopes that they will pay dividends later. These are great men! Patriots and seekers and seers. They deserve these laughs...but without your help, these laughs will remain forever muted...in the dark.
Don't let that happen! Ride towards the light! Ride with us! Join them, join us! Give life to Pony Tales!
I'm so glad I didn't quit my job at Radio Shack 17 times that one summer.
