Update #5: p.s.
Hello to my dear donors,
I wanted to send to you the link to my blog, which holds the beginnings of what will hopefully be a more beautiful, edited and concise body of published writings at some point down the road.
For now, these humble entries are short (and long) snip-its of our life in the Ecuadorian Amazon, where weam living for five months with the Achuar indigenous. I am sending these writings specifically to you, (those of you with Facebook may notice that I am not sharing this blog publicly) only because I don´t feel that this work should be read yet by too many strangers, at least not until I spend an excessive amount of time making them a true labor of love. So, if you do feel that you want to share, I only ask that you be considerate with your choices.
I would be flattered to recieve any comments, criticism, amusement, or whatever it is my words (and selected photographs) may stir within you.

With greetings from the mother forest

Update #4: BLOG from the Amazon
Update #3: Success!
Hello dearest friends, family and community near and far,
We did it!!! Not only did we make our stated goal on Kickstarter, but we also made our more realistic goal of 2000 dollars.
Thank you so much for your support! This project wouldn't be going anywhere were it not for the small and large donations that have been pouring in.
We thank each of you for believing in this work.
I am again attaching the link to my blog "Life with Lime and Salt" which is a small project I have been working on quite sporadically throughout the years. Blog posts include entries from when I was living in Argentina, Costa Rica and various other outposts. This is the blog where I will be sharing some of my personal experiences in the forest... though not to spoil the book(s) I plan on writing...hehe

For those of you who chose to receive rewards, we will be sending them out when we return from the Amazon in February, so be patient, send in your addresses and you will soon receive a small piece of the jungle in the mail.
We are eternally grateful and inspired by the incredible sense of community this fundraiser has proven. Moreover we feel that each of you are coming with us in some way, an invisible web of support, and without doubt, the beginning building blocks for the Wachirpas English Program and sustainable endeavors.
deep thanks and warm wishes,
Stephanie, Pablo, and the Wachirpas Community
Update #2: Thanks and Praises
Hello dear friends, family and supporters,
I wanted to send out an update to thank each and every one of you for your small or large donation which has brought us to our Kickstarter goal of $1000. You did it! This is an incredible earmark and has truly taken off a great load of pressure in knowing that we will be able to start and support the beginning stages of the Wachirpas English Program. May it blossom into an empowering and balancing tool in times of clashing societies and lifestyles.
While $1000 was our stated goal here on Kickstarter, our budget is much closer to $2000. Therefore, if any of you have community- be it friends or family, who might be willing to chip in a coupla bucks, every little bit counts! So spread the word, we have about one week left!
I want to share with all of you a blog post written by Lily, a volunteer at the Kapawi Lodge, and June Jiyunt Uyunkar , the first Achuar woman of the Wachirpas community to speak almost fluent English. It is she who will be teaching where we leave off, and it is she who is the the real advocate for this program.
What's Up in Wachirpas:

Thanks again for all of your reinforcement, encouragement and financial support. Let's keep it coming. It is truly a wonder what technological powers of the "developed" world can do for a project such as ours. So here's to YOU (hoorah!) to Kickstarter (hooray!) and to the Wachirpas English Program (Woot woot!)
Truly and gratefully,
Stephanie & Pablo
