First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out --

Because I was not a Socialist.

Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Trade Unionist.

Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out --
Because I was not a Jew.

Then they came for me -- and there was no one left to speak for me.

-Martin Niemöller

This film is based on two simple questions: Why do people hate Israel, and what can we do about it?  This summer, we will travel to the Middle East and Europe in search of answers.  In Israel, a country that has thrived amidst immense hate, we will interview government officials and document young people living in the region’s only true safe-haven for minorities.  In London, we will explore the fact that racism, misogyny, and homophobia are frowned upon, while anti-Israel sentiment remains socially acceptable and popular.

The goal of this film is to demonstrate the similarities between American and British anti-Israel trends, and offer a glimpse of what the future holds for members of the American pro-Israel community.  History continually repeats itself, and we believe that this situation is no different. During the 2013-2014 academic year, we plan to take our film on the road, visiting select college campuses and arranging screenings with well-established student advocacy organizations and local Jewish groups.  Through direct engagement and a carefully organized program, we will seek to increase awareness of and connection to Israel among American young people.

Why we need you

Shooting, producing, and distributing this film will be a very expensive endeavor, but we strongly feel that the long-term rewards will far outweigh the costs involved.  Right now, as we enter a critical stage in the pre-production process, we need your help more than ever.  The money we raise in this early phase will allow us to purchase equipment, secure accommodations, and reach out to additional donors.  Please give what you can, and rest assured that your contribution will be used to its absolute fullest potential.

Numerous donors have agreed to pledge their support once we reach the $5,000 goal through Kickstarter.
