What's this project about?

The music video will be made to the AV8RS song 'Island Fever,' and will take place in various beach locations throughout Santa Barbara. The story follows The AV8RS on their search for love throughout one day and into the same night. We see The AV8RS interact with their female counterparts time after time, yet as the night goes on they are finally given a chance to have their voices be heard, and two of the young women take notice.

But what makes this video special?

This video will differ from others in that it will tell a story through lyrics, music and on-screen action that otherwise may be missed by the average listener. A person's search for love is many times filled with heartbreak and rejection, yet with the right combination of persistence and opportunity, they will be able to succeed. This is the primary message that our music video will be trying to pass to the audience.

So where does the money go?

We've completed principal photography (filming) of the project, but had to fund it entirely out of our own pockets. The money raised from kickstarter will partially reimburse us for:

-Food and drink for the cast and crew. Our 40-person group of extras and our 15 person crew get hungry during long, demanding shoots, and we need everyone to be at full power if this video is going to be a success.

-Equipment rental. As broke college students, we cannot afford our own equipment. We spent the majority of the money on camera rentals, lighting equipment, and power generator units.

-Props, Costume and Production Design. This video is going to have great scenery down to the last detail. To ensure this happens, we had to have sufficient funds to cover everything from Tikki torches to lights and more.

How does this all work?

Kickstarter is a platform for projects to be funded by independent backers. All transactions are secure through Amazon's Flexible Payment Service. 

*If we do not reach our goal by our deadline then YOU WILL NOT BE CHARGED ANYTHING!* We have to meet our goal in order to receive the funding. Once the campaign is over, we will contact donors and award them with their prizes appropriately.

Who are The AV8RS?

The AV8RS are a pop/hip-hop/soul group out of the Bay Area in Northern California. Comprised of Anthony Nisbet and Santese Lamar Smith, The AV8RS first began writing music together when they met at UC Santa Cruz. They continue to play live shows in front of packed crowds throughout the Bay Area and Central Coast region, and are yet to have a music video to spread to their rapidly growing audience.

Who are Brent and Kyle?

Brent and Kyle are both Film and Media majors at UC Santa Barbara. Brent first heard of the AV8RS when he attended UC Santa Cruz for the past two years. Kyle, an instrumental part of the filmmaking community at UC Santa Barbara, draws much of his experience from the production side of filmmaking, though he is also known for his acting talents and looks forward to his directorial debut with this video.
