Gayle Kirschenbaum is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and TV producer. Her personal film, MY NOSE received critical praise and awards. Gayle has turned the film's lessons into a humorous and insightful seminar, featuring "The Seven Healing Tools" for dealing with difficult people. Kirschenbaum created and Executive Produced several reality shows airing Discovery including I’M PREGNANT AND MAY BE HAVING …, LITTLE PARENTS: BIG PREGNANCY and DWARF FAMILY ADOPTION. Gayle’s much loved film, A DOG’S LIFE: A DOGAMENTARY premiered on HBO. Gayle created and hosts the TV show MELTING POT, a food and culture show which is in pre-production. Gayle is the host and creator of the video podcast series ON THE TRAIL WITH GAYLE. Gayle co-created JUDGMENT DAY: SHOULD THE GUILTY GO FREE, which aired on HBO. I was so taken with My Nose and am so glad the full-length version is in production. Gayle and her mom both have larger-than-life personalities that are archetypal, somehow. I believe My Nose: The Bigger Version is going to be embraced by mothers and daughters (and the men who love them) from every culture. Gayle's short film "My Nose" is a classic. I'm excited to see this new feature length version that gives her story, with all its humor and drama, a chance to grow. This project is wonderful and I am happy to support it! I've just learned about it through an email--so interesting to me as a mom, Jewish woman, clinical psychologist, with a 'nose' story of my own.
I know Gayle personally and have also worked with her professionally. I can attest to her dedication to storytelling. She's an amazing, inspiring woman who will stay up all hours of the night ruminating over story ideas, but will also happily put down her blackberry and make you a home cooked meal. Gayle's story with her mother is relatable to thousands of men and women, and she is such a vibrant individual (as noted by her previous awards and accolades) that audiences will surely flock to the film to witness her story.
I have met Gayle 20 years ago. She is a sensitive and humanist filmmaker, who is very honest and emotional in her projects and at the same time hardworking and very professional. I'd love to see this film to happen because her unique subject matter, a mother-daughter abusive relationship and because of Gayle personal and entertaining style.
Gayle's project will be of great benefit and will be a positive uplifing message that our culture needs. At one level, the story is about a lady's nose. However, it really is a universal story that will touch many souls about becoming comfortable in our own skin and making peace with challenging people in our lives.
