12 Pugnacious Penguins is a counting book with poems and illustrations for children and some humorous text for adult readers.

12 Pugnacious Penguins is a fun, humorous and fact-filled children’s counting book.

While your child learns to count he or she will also learn that:

• Prehistoric penguins were as tall as humans! Of course, some prehistoric humans were only as tall as penguins.

• The bald eagles’ favorite food is fish and its second favorite food is dead fish — which is why bald eagles usually live near large bodies of water. Or, sushi restaurants.

• Cheetahs are fast. Very fast. They can reach speeds up to 75 miles per hours — 27 miles per hour in school zones. Sloths, on the other hand (or paw, as it were), are slow. Very slow. At a full gallop they can almost go 1/6 of a mile per hour.

Twenty-one silly illustrations fill the pages of 12 Pugnacious Penguins. Twenty-one? Yes, this book starts at zero. And there’s a poem to go with each illustration.
