A terrifying dreamlike short film exploring fear and masculinity in contemporary American suburbia.
Lucid is a story that follows a submissive college professor (Michael LoCicero) and his partner Andrea (Cate Carson). When their home is invaded by a terrifying force of evil (Marc Vos) what terrors must one man endure to save his family?
The film is told in a subjective manner where reality and illusion begin to fuse together. It is a cinematic nightmare dedicated to filmmakers like David Lynch and Stanley Kubrick.
Derek Dubois is a Rhode Island filmmaker accustomed to working on low budgets. His previous films have all been self-financed. His latest work, Fallout (a thriller short) has been accepted to numerous film festivals. Derek is an adjunct professor of Film Studies at Rhode Island College.
The filmmakers wish to move above and beyond the constraints of no budget filmmaking and take this project to the next level.
