About this project

About 6 months ago I met two brothers with an interesting story. Ralph and Bob Brown are average guys, except they decided to attempt to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a 21-foot flats boat. They had two goals; to prove their boat could make it from Tampa Florida, all the way to Frankfurt Germany, and to raise money for the Wounded Hero's Foundation.

Thirty years ago, Ralph was in the US Marines, when terrorists took over the American Embassy in Iran. He was told he was on Red Alert and was going to Iran to take back the Embassy from the terrorists. He never had to go, another unit went. That day eight Americans lost their lives in the Iranian dessert and Ralph made a promise that they would never be forgotten. This voyage was the beginning of the fulfillment of that promise.

Along their trip they met many amazing people, experienced different cultures, saw amazing parts of the world, saw amazing wildlife, and set a Guinness World Record . Their route for the trip would depart from Tampa Florida, go up the Northeast Coast to New York City, Canada, Newfoundland, Greenland, Iceland, the Faroe Islands, and making their way to Europe and ending in Germany, totaling over 8,000 miles of ocean water.

As I talked more with them and saw more and more photos and video footage, I knew their story needed to be told and that I wanted to produce this film. They handed me over 20 hours of High Definition footage and hundreds of photos, and articles from around the world. With all the footage and additional shooting needed, there is a lot of work to be done.

This is where YOU come in. I need your help to fund this independent project. The money you donate will go towards the following:

CREATING THIS DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILM!

Production costs:
Shooting interviews with the Ralph and Bob and strangers that they have encountered on their journey. This includes rental costs for gear, costs for hiring a crew, transportation and food costs, and shooting additional "b-roll" - Establishing shots of few locations.

Post production:
With over 20 hours of footage, I need an amazing editor that can log this footage and edit it down to a feature length and make this story the best it can be. I want to make sure the story of this journey is told how Ralph and Bob experienced it.
- Post will also include audio post, color correction and costs for storage.
-Music, it will be scored by a composer. I believe that a score will do this film the best justice.

The minimal amount needed to make this film will be $15,000. This is the minimal amount at which the story can truly be told and effectively give the experience that Ralph and Bob had. Any money raised byond the $15,000 will help make this film EVEN BETTER!
