BOOK ONE: Julia, a realistic, 14-year-old fashionista from the United States, searches for her missing mother in Ireland, only to discover her mother is lost to the Fairy World. To find her mother, she must forget everything she knows about reality and embrace a world of magic.

Julia Fae is the first book in a series of six books about a young girl who searches for her mother in Ireland. Her journey takes her to the fairy world where she discovers that magic and fairies are more a part of the human world than she ever imagined. Ultimately, Julia must embrace the magic within her to find her mother as well as save both the fairy and human worlds. (More about the series below.)

THE BOOK

This is a  175 page PROSE NOVEL for 9-12-year-olds. It includes the illustrations and cover art seen on this Kickstarter application. 12 additional illustrations are planned exclusively for the book (not included in the eBook).

WHY JULIA FAE?

This book is a passion project – really a love letter to my mother who passed away several years ago. She was the one who taught me as a child that magic starts with believing in myself. Once I believed in myself, a world of infinite possibilities opened up in my life.

When children grow up with confidence and look at the world as a place of possibilities, even the mundane day takes on an element of magic. This is how my mom lived her life, and I want to share that with girls so that they grow up believing they can be or do anything. In essence, I want to pass along a magical life that my mom passed along to me.

Aside from being a single mom, over the last four years, Julia Fae has been read and work-shopped with 10 professional writers and two editors for content, development and errors. Some of these professionals have been nominated for Academy Awards, won awards for their story telling and taught writing at UCLA, AFI and Sundance. Most important, Julia Fae has been read and gotten the seal of approval by young girls, ages 9 -12, in a test reading. (See Testimonials above.)

So, here we are. The first book is done, and I'm so excited to share it with you. I only need $9,000 to fund Julia Fae and bring her story to life.

JULIA FAE SERIES

BOOK ONE: Julia, a realistic, 14-year-old fashionista from the United States, searches for her missing mother in Ireland, only to discover her mother is lost to the Fairy World. To find her mother, she must forget everything she knows about reality and embrace a world of magic.

BOOK TWO: The balance of good and evil in the fairy realm is shifting as Julia and dark forces battle for power. During a treacherous Blood Moon, Julia is forced to use all that she knows about magic to save her mother and the fairies from a fate worse than death.

BOOK THREE: The battle over creation magic continues after Julia accidentally brings back one of the darkest forces imaginable. To right her wrong, she must end the darkness’ plans, otherwise, she will be responsible for changing the power of light to dark.

BOOK FOUR: Julia investigates the death of her father and finds out there is more to him than she knew. The part he played and secrets he kept are pivotal to Julia stopping the dark forces in the fairy world and returning Julia’s mother to her.

BOOK FIVE: In hopes of stopping the dark forces, Julia goes back 900 years to uncover clues about the split between human and fairy worlds. Seduced by the darkness that captivated her mother 900 years earlier, the longer Julia is back in time, the more she forgets who she is, her mission and why she’s there.

BOOK SIX: Julia must stop her nemesis from using Julia’s mother against her and unleashing a power that threatens the destruction of both human and fairy worlds. To stop her nemesis, Julia must make her greatest sacrifice.
