What's Going On

The Dancing Death Eaters are throwing a wizard rock concert on Saturday, November 10th. We will be showing off three new dance numbers, including our newest and most ambitious one ever: a Quidditch dance number set to Witherwings's "Oliver Wood."

There are going to be some fantastic wizard rockers performing at this event. While we do not have the full list, we can confirm that some great wrockers are coming out of retirements/hiatuses on this night! Swish and Flick, Madam Pince and the Librarians, and The Butterbeer Experience will give some truly memorable performances that you don't want to miss! And plenty of other local talent like Celestial Warmbottom and the wrock collective Carpe Geekdom will be performing. 

Why We Need Your Help

To make this happen, we are renting a studio in Midtown Manhattan for six hours. Since it has to be a big studio, it's going to be quite costly. The rental for the studio alone costs $350, and that is the amount we're trying to raise through this Kickstarter. This is the very bare minimum, to just have a space to actually host the event. Any extra money we raise will go towards making the event even better for everyone, and if we manage to raise a lot, then the hard-workers performers can get paid! So please donate, and help us relive the glory days of wizard rock, proving once and for all that it's not dead!

Rewards

Our rewards are a mixture of some great wizard rock merch - mostly from the bands who'll be performing, but also from friendly bands who just want to help out - and customized stuff made just for you! Since our rewards are fairly low-priced, you can get multiple rewards by donating the appropriate amount!

Once you donate any amount over five dollars, in addition to the reward(s) you choose you will get a pin (with either the Dancing Death Eaters' logo or the Avada KedavRock logo on it) and a Famous Death Eater Card, just because we love you for your support.  If you donate fifteen dollars or more, you will also get an empty potion bottle, perfect for your cosplaying needs.

Wrock Merch Rewards: Many bands generously donated their CDs or shirts to help make this event happen, in the hopes of having a great wrock show to perform at. Also, Witherwings - one of the most underappreciated wrockers on the scene - is going to be donating a CD, even though she regrettably can't make it to the show. Our new Quidditch number is set to her song "Oliver Wood," and that is just one song on a really great collection.

Personalized Rewards: If you already have all the wrock merch you could want, then we have some customized rewards for you. You can feel like a celebrity with your very own Chocolate Frog Cards. Maddie, who drew our lovely logo, will draw you as a wizard. Death Eater Rosie will embroider cool stuff onto a t-shirt or headband for you. Since we are going to make these rewards for you, they are very flexible. If you want a drawing of your whole family or a shirt embroidered with a dozen things, let me know and we'll negotiate a price.

New Dance For You: Our ultimate reward is a new dance the Dancing Death Eaters will make just for you! Whether you're a wizard rocker who's always wanted dancers with your act, or you just really love a certain song and want a dance done to it, we will oblige! Due to our busy preparations for the concert, we will restrict our new routine to one minute of the song. But if you give us a good song, we might expand it later and add it to our repertoire.

Rewards for Non-attendees: If you can't make it to the event for whatever reason, we can still make you feel like you're part of it! We can have all the wrockers present sign a poster for you (and that'll be a lot of wrockers!). Or better yet, we can have all the wrockers give you a message on video. If you wish, you can request silly things said. :)
