Hi there and welcome to the Kickstarter page for Project: K.I.B.A. Season 1!  My name is Brian Thomas and I have been working on Project: K.I.B.A. since 7/4/2011.  I was one of the pioneering graduates of Chapman University's Digital Arts Program (located in Orange, CA).  I have been heavily influenced by various web series such as Red vs. Blue, Dick Figures, and the various works of animator Monty Oum and want to join their ranks in provided the internet with exciting entertainment. Project: K.I.B.A. Season 1 has become my baby and the biggest setback for getting it off the ground is a lack of funds and time.  I currently work 2 jobs (4 if you want to get technical) and frankly I do not have as much time as I would like to focus on the Project.

The pledges I am asking for would allow me to leave my second job (making Project: K.I.B.A. Season 1 my second job!) as well as fund other areas of the Project.  One of these other areas would be to acquire a new Computer because unfortunately my current computer is having trouble keeping up with me.  Having a second computer to work on would also greatly decrease render time and for those who don't know what that means, basically I could pump this out faster.

Also with your pledges I will be able to pay my talented actors, musicians, animators to assist me, marketing, as well as all those awesome rewards you have all chosen!

I will be the first one to admit that the pilot is a little rough around the edges, but you will have to trust me that the material currently being worked on has the same game style look, but much smoother animations!

If the backing for Season 1 becomes a success I would love to come back to Kickstarter for Season 2!

Now that all that has been said let me give you a brief synopsis of the Story for Project: K.I.B.A. Season 1...

Taking place 6 months after the events that transpired in the Pilot episode.  Zero, wearing his advanced K.I.B.A. power armor, has gone rogue and the mysterious company, Project, who is behind the creation of the K.I.B.A. armor is hunting him.  Zero is driven by an unknown desire for revenge against his previous employers and while on his rampage across the Neutral Planet, called The Planet (hehe), he encounters 6 other individuals all wearing K.I.B.A. power armor.  But how? He thought the only armor left was his own!  Initially believing the others to be a threat from Project, he learns he couldn't be more wrong.  In fact the 6 couldn't be more out place!  A community college bound student, a military school delinquent, a scientist, an enemy spy, a soldier and a radio operator.  Come and watch the adventures of Zero as he tries to take down Project and free the other 6 from the evil grip of Project!

Q) Why don't you try making more realistic looking graphics?

A) We are sticking with the "game" style look for several reasons.  First it is less demanding on the computers we currently have access to and render time is significantly shorter.  It also will show people that you don't have to be a part of a large studio or even have the best equipment and you can create your own show.  All it takes is an idea and hard work!  Lastly, because we kind of like it.

Q) When would the show premiere?

A) For something of this scale it is difficult to accurately determine when it would be ready.  If funding is successful and I am able to devote more time to Project: K.I.B.A. I will be able to gauge my early progress and make an accurate guess.

Q) How frequently will the 26 episodes premiere?

A) There will be a new episode each week!

Q) Will there be a season two?

A) We are focusing primarily on getting season one done at the moment.  However if this turns into even a small success, we would love to come back onto Kickstarter in order to organize a second season.  Successful funding for season one will greatly influence whether a second season gets made.
