SKOL features Vikings fans from Minnesota as they live through the ups & downs of being a fan during the teams’ 50th season.
SKOL: The Documentary is about Minnesota Vikings fans who are not just committed to their team, but have translated their fandom into artistic creations, business endeavors and community building. If you know anything about the NFL, you know that the Minnesota Vikings have one of the most torrid and tragic histories in the NFL - so how do these fans stay loyal, inspired and dedicated?
During the 2010 season, we followed these fans as they experienced yet another drama filled season from the Vikings. And now the movie is complete! We're so excited to share it with the people of Minnesota, but we need some help making that happen.
We want to hold a series of FREE showings across the state of Minnesota, but we need to secure finances to pay for the costs associated with showing a film at absolutely no cost to movie-goers.The screenings would be scheduled between May and August and once we've done our road tour, we want to make the film available to the world for FREE too. That's why we intend to premiere the film online on August 1st, 2011 on skoldocumentary.com
We believe in this story so much that we want as many people to see it as possible. We're not interested in making money, selling the film to a distributor or capitalizing on our efforts.
So does this sound like something you want to support?
Well, this is where you get to help and get some really cool stuff out of the deal too!
We want you to give you things that are truly part of the film. We have a range of super affordable options available. For example, for only $35 you'll receive one 8x10 inch production photo, a thank you note from the director, your name listed on the website and a limited edition numbered 11 x 17 print of the Adrian Peterson portrait that we captured in the film. (Seen below)
To help make giving personal, everyone who gives gets a thank you note from the director with their very own Viking inspired Nordic name with an explanation of its meaning and origins.
There's one more way you can help us out.
Do you own a local theatre or know someone who owns a local show house? Maybe you have a "movies in the park" in your town? Or your high school auditorium is used for movie showings? Please contact us on facebook at facebook.com/skoldocumentary or email us at skoldocumentary.com/contact We want to talk with you about showing SKOL in your area!
We can't say THANK YOU enough! And we can't wait for all of you to see SKOL!
