Greetings comic book fans, my name is David Canario and I’m going to tell you about the best new comics you’ll read this year! I’d also like to introduce you to the Dread Arts Company, a self publishing venture that needs your help. Dread Arts Company is a brand new, Chicago-based comic book publisher that I started along with my friends Jason Swearingen and Matt Collander. Last year we created and released our first book: a 44 page horror anthology called The Exquisite Corpse Collection #1.

This year we are very excited to be making two more excellent books for you to read! Right now, we’re hard at work putting the finishing touches on our first science fiction anthology, Modern Tales of the Future! It is a 36 page book that is chock full of intergalactic adventure, time travel, and more! Modern Tales of the Future! features four separate stories that take you, dear reader, to the far reaches of space and time. Come with us and travel to the future, to distant worlds beyond the moon, and see what adventures await you there. We are on track to debut this book at the C2E2 convention in Chicago, Illinois, so please visit us at booth 709, April 13-15.

Also, if you haven’t read The Exquisite Corpse Collection #1 yet, you’d better put that on your agenda, because this August we’re bringing you The Exquisite Corpse Collection #2! Much like the first, the second book of this series promises an abundance of gore, zombies, magic and fright! We continue two bone-chilling stories from the first issue and introduce a third story by our new contributor, Crow. If you’ve ever wondered what might happen to a detective who stumbles into the horrific secret world of stage magicians, or how a group of college kids might survive the zombie apocalypse, you’d better pick up your copy ASAP. You can expect to see us at Wizard World Chicago again this year to debut this book, so mark your calendar for August 9-12!

Now, I do want to stress that none of this is possible without your support, so please contribute to our Kickstarter. We must raise at least $2,000 to cover the cost of printing both books, as well as the costs associated with promoting them, and we are offering some great incentives to our Kickstarter benefactors.

At Dread Arts Company we work tirelessly, honing our skills as writers and artists, striving to make each page more amazing than the last. This is a labor of love for us, and any funds we might raise over the $2,000 goal will be used to fund the production of later issues and conventions.
