About this project

Down the Cape tells the story of Michael Silver's bold attempt to reunite his extended family eleven years after an event that he jokingly refers to as "The Great Schism." Set in 2000-2001, amidst preparations for Michael's wedding, it looks back at the 1990s through the eyes of four cousins: the flighty painter, who can't make up his mind about who he wants to be, and who he wants to be with; the guitar-playing songstress strangled by fear and family obligations; the stripper who will do anything for a buck (but she won't do that); and the writer who will stop at nothing to set the story straight (and that means arson and pulling a B&E, if you're curious).

I've been working on the novel for five years, and I'm nearly done (or as done as a writer ever is -- I'm on the fifth full-book revision, or thereabouts). Inspired by authors like Scott Sigler, J.C. Hutchins, and Mur Lafferty, I've decided to podcast the novel chapter-by-chapter. Hopefully, I'll end up building an audience in the process. An audiobook on iTunes definitely lies at the end of this rainbow, and maybe a small DIY print edition too, depending on how much money we're able to raise. And then maybe a major publisher gets interested, I land a big contract, and I invite you all over to my mansion for pizza.
Ahem... Anyway...

So, that's what I'm looking to do.

You'll notice that I've included a bunch of different rewards for you, should you choose to support me and my dream. They get more and more awesome the more and more you give. Any donation is welcome, though!

And, just so you know: I don't plan on quitting podcasting after this book. If all is successful, I'll be using this equipment to not only podcast my own work but to help out any and all up-and-coming podcasters and writers I meet to get their own voices heard. If you help me, I promise that I'm going to do my damnedest to help others, as well!
