I still remember the day when I met Sheila, I was only ten years old. Sheila was in her late forties and was outside with her three Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. I told her that I wanted a dog just like hers.That was the start of a beautiful friendship. 

Sheila loved to go on walks and we happened to live around a golf course. We would  go on walks almost every day. That golf course holds countless conversations and memories from the past years. She always had the best advice to give and had an opinion about everything. Sheila loved kids but never had any of her own, and started calling me her daughter. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

A few months after I turned twenty one Sheila died suddenly of Melanoma cancer. My whole family was devastated, she was a second mom to me.Sheila will always be in our hearts and her story is worth telling. 

My goal is to publish a memoir about our friendship in hopes her life will be apart of your hearts as it is to mine.

My ultimate goal is have this memoir written by the end of October 2012.
