We are back in the studio to record some new songs and we need YOU! Help us, Soldier On Army- you're our only hope!
Hey all, Jim & Erin here...
Since we started this band(singing/songwriting duo) we have relied on the support and kindness of our fans, friends, and family to bring our dreams to life. 2012 will be no different.
After we recorded our first album back in 2009, we couldn’t wait to share it with everyone. We learned so much from that experience, and were already fired up for the next time we could record. The songs we’ve been writing since are just as special to us, if not more, because they reflect how we’ve grown as musicians and people over the last few years. When we first started writing together almost a decade ago, we jokingly said that individually and together we had “a lot to say, and some day people will listen.” We can’t wait to see what these new songs can become with not only our passion to develop and share them with all who will listen, but also with the tremendous talent and vision of those who’ve already agreed to help us make them a reality.
We have been saving money to record a bunch of new songs that will become our second album. This new batch of songs has us super excited. They are dark and cynical with a pinch of hope (which speaks to our thirty-something-underdog-Philadelphia roots). In April, we started recording with the incredibly talented Andrew Lipke, who is acting as producer, engineer, songwriting partner, and music guru. With Andrew's help and the help of some musicians from around the Philly area we are hoping to take these songs to the next level.
That's where you come in.
Although we have saved some cash it isn't nearly enough to make a record of professional quality. We hope you believe in us enough to donate a few bucks so we can make the record we have always wanted to make.
Your donation will help us pay all the fantastic musicians (who are fantastic people as well) that we would love to have perform on this record. That means that piano, strings, pedal steel, horns, accordion, banjo and all other manners of making noise will be in play for this record. I can tell you that the rhythmically gifted and handsome Chris Giraldi will be playing drums on the record and Andrew will be contributing a ton (bass, guitar, piano, his basement).

(Chris killin' it)

(Andrew chillin' it)
Your donation will also help us with the physical manufacturing of the CD. We know it's the digital age, but our parents still listen to CDs.
We choose $3,750 because it is the bare minimum we need to finish and release this record. The catch is that the project is only funded if we hit that goal. No worries though... You won't be charged unless we hit the goal. So please share this with any friends or family that you know would like our music (or who just like to help bring art to life).
It will be amazing if we are able to go over our goal. That would help cover the Kickstarter and Amazon fees and allow us to put more money into mixing, mastering, and even more musicians. We would also be able to pay a graphic designer to create the record artwork.
So check out the rewards we are offering for donations. Basically you can pre- order a digital copy of the record and help us out at the same time. Or you can make a higher donation and get something with a more personal touch like a show at your house.
If you know us, you know that the only things in our lives more important than music are friends, family, and our fans. It would mean more than anything to have you all be a part of this record. It also puts the pressure on us to come through with something special.
Thanks and as always... Soldier On.
