My EP will soon be fully recorded! Help cover production, mastering, artwork, and costs related to the finalization of this record!
As many of you know, I've been hard at work in the studio working on an EP of my Singer/Songwriter material. This album, 'S', is almost completed. Thanks to Tom Mark and Bard College, the many hours spent recording and producing this album have been free. However, there is a large amount of work in the making of this album that is the exact opposite of free.
Just a few of these are:
Mastering by TW Walsh, former drummer of Pedro the Lion (responsible for mixing and mastering many of their albums as well as some by David Bazan, Sufjan Stevens, and countless others). Info about his mastering can be found here. http://twwalsh.com/mastering I'm having fantastic artwork made by none other than Bard's Marty Abbe-Shneider. Most importantly, I'd like to invest in some small token of appreciation for the many musicians who helped make this album a reality!
Anything that you can donate would be incredibly helpful. A $5 donation or more gets you a free copy of the album and artwork and a donation of $20 or more gets you some free B-Sides that will not be included on the album and will not be available to the public! These rewards and many others can be viewed on the right.

Yes, you can. While the benefits of cash are that Kickstarter and Amazon don't take any of the funds, the money from the kickstarter isn't received unless the number of online donations reaches $1000. So while all of the money goes to the cause, paying in cash does not increase the number you see in the top right corner.

The album will be done by the end of this Bard semester (so around May 21). I'll be in China for most of the month of June (at which point I won't be able to do much). When I get back will probably be when I package everything (get it on itunes, get the hard copies made with Marty's Artwork, etc.). What I'm hoping is that the CD will be released in July or August. It seems like a quick turn around, but keep in mind that the recording process is basically finished. One thing that's for certain is that the release dates on the rewards are absolutely estimates and not semblances of reality by any means.

The money will be taken from your account on May first if and only if the number reaches at least $1000. No matter how high your donation, not a dime will be taken out until that date.

$1000 dollars is how much money we need for the project to actually receive any funds at all. However, Kickstarter and Amazon both take a cut. Reaching $1000 really means reaching $900. What that means is that we should shoot as high as possible. $1000 is the bare minimum.
