Who's this Chris Merrill?
I've been writing and performing music since before I could read. Okay, we know that's not true, but I grew up with a passion for music and credit my musical inspirations to such diverse artists as Stevie Wonder and Matchbox Twenty to Keith Urban and legends such as Johnny Cash. I've been playing with my band Merrill since 2006 up and down much of the west coast and couldn't love what I do any more.
I'm a writer, a performer and beyond all things, a dreamer. The idea of living and breathing music in Nashville is something that has recently become very real for me. After a recent inspirational visit, I fell hard in love. I'm ready to take my music further, play harder, work harder and make it happen. Sooooo.....
I am moving to Nashville!!
My bags will be packed and ready to go on January 23, 2012. While I'll be leaving behind so many family and friends, I'll be living the dream and making everyone back home proud. I've spent my whole life in the great northwest so this is a BIG move for me...but it's the right move. I'll be working with other songwriters and artists in Nashville to help craft the future of country music. Blending my love of traditional pop with rock grooves, undeniable soul, and the essence of country, we'll take our music to the forefront!

Just like nothing in life is free and money doesn't grow on trees....making it in Nashville is no guarantee and I'll be starting out fresh and far away from the steady paycheck I've come to know playing in the NW.
I've been networking like crazy and have made some great industry connections in my soon-to-be home of Nashville and can't wait to get over there and start making music. I know I have what it takes. My wings have been clipped and I am ready to fly, but I need your help getting there!
