Dear DoggyCorps Backers,
Hello! How are you? It has been a while, and I thought it was high time I update you on the latest news.
First, the project:
I've wrapped up interviews, edited the sound, and am currently (still) drawing animations, frame-by-painstaking-frame to accompany the audio in Doggycorps the Dogumentary short. I'm also back in grad school out here, so my self-imposed September deadline was a little short sighted. I expect all animations to be complete by Thanksgiving so you'll have the gift of talking dogs in time for the holidays.
As someone who loves fine books and working with my hands, I'm excited to announce one future of this project: I'll be creating a series of handmade, talking pop-up books for Doggycorps.
Yes, that's a mouthful.
Imagine those talking Hallmark cards, but with original Doggycorps interviews and artwork, as well as custom electronics and binding. I've been lucky to be a part of backer Marianne Petit's pop-up book course at NYU this fall and can't wait to get a prototype together. You all will be the first to get a glimpse!
In the meantime, I've ordered our tote bags and they'll be here by the end of the month! For everyone who lives locally, I'll be happy to hand them off when they arrive. For those of you distant supporters, I'm planning to ship bags with the films and cd's when I complete them. If you would like to sport your bag before then, please email and I'd be happy to get it in the mail.
Thanks again for your support. I hope fall is finding you well.
