About this project
The last 3 years of FAWM (February Album Writing Month) have proved some of the most creative, challenging and rewarding times of my independent music career.
My twist to the challenge of writing 14 songs every February, has been to write songs from titles YOU suggest.
It has been a privilege to take your ideas, your thoughts, your phrases and give them life and breath and watch them fly.
Over the last 3 Februaries, roughly 600 song titles have been submitted and over 40 songs have been written. Although I have been able to make rough recordings to share with you at the end of each FAWM, my vision has always been to record studio versions of the cream of the crop.
I have 10 songs collected from the last 3 years of FAWM that I am proud of and that I believe are worthy of becoming a full length record.
I am currently in the middle of the recording process in Nashville, TN, with the amazing Kenny Hutson producing.
I have the songs, I have the producer, I have the time and the energy. What independent artists don't have a lot of, is money.
Everything costs money, from the actual recording, to the mixing, mastering and then manufacturing the actual CDs.
If we reach our $2500 goal, we can cover the rest of the recording basics.
If we don't reach our goal, all the money pledged goes back to the backers and we are back to square one.
If we exceed our goal, that money will go directly to mixing, manufacturing and packaging the actual CDs! Every penny goes towards this project.
There are some pretty awesome rewards involved in the pledge process - something for every level!
They include:
- Early bird CDs
- Signed merchandise
- Discography (3 CDs)
- Your own song! (In the spirit of FAWM, of course)
- Journal with handwritten lyrics
- House Show
- Credits in the liner notes
I am SO thankful for my loyal, passionate, creative fans. I want SO badly to make this record excellent for you.
You have encouraged me through years of songwriting, now I ask for a final bit of help to make this record a reality.
We've written over 40 songs together, now let's make an ALBUM together!
Visit www.floparis.net to listen to rough samples of the 43 songs written with your titles.

Bio
After 6 years of writing songs while her babies napped and spending the wee hours of the night tracking and recording, Flo Paris has stepped out with new songs, a new record, and an even stronger determination to play.
The early 2000s were spent playing small coffee shops and joining the successful Chattanooga based progressive rock band, "Glass Hammer."
During her time with GH, Flo lent her angelic background vocals to numerous recordings as well as live DVDs and an appearance at the North East Art Rock Festival in New Jersey in 2003.
"Practice Room" was the first full-length record and was produced by two of the members of Glass Hammer.
She moved back to her home town of San Luis Obispo, CA with her first record and in 2006 single-handedly promoted and pulled off a CD release show, filling 200 seats and gaining rave reviews, all while 9 months pregnant with her second daughter.
Moving to Nashville and also moving away from the Christian music industry for her second album wasn't easy, but she has gained an entirely new audience while managing to keep her loyal fans with her sophomore record, "Coming Around", released in June 2009.
She had only been in town a year, and already packed the house at the "Coming Around" release show inviting artists such as Sandra McCracken, Katy and Kenny Hutson, and Eric Brown to share the stage and lend their support.
The CD release was followed by a cross country tour ending in California, where she opened for L.A. based "Lakes" at Hotel Cafe in Hollywood.
In 2010 she was voted into the #1 slot in the Lilith Fair Local Talent Search for the Nashville area, and she can now be found playing with and opening for numerous artists in town, such as Tyrus Morgan, Andrew Osenga, Nick Flora, Sandra McCracken and Derek Webb.
She is currently working on a full length record with producer Kenny Hutson (formerly of Vigilantes of Love, Over the Rhine) and playing house shows and living rooms across the country.
