Update #9: Brothers & Sisters!
Hello!
It has been an amazing month: The mixing of the Audio portion of the DVD / CD has advanced in leaps and bounds in these initial stages:
AND IT IS SOUNDING A M A Z I N G !!!!
I could not be happier. Ted Cho is almost done mixing the Austin PDP era night show, and it is sounding super beautiful! To hear it come out of the speakers is a Huge Joy: I can hear all the magic that made those first 3 records.... it is those hands playing those songs in that way that they were meant to sound.
I was over come with delight. I did not care one tiny bit about any occasional flubbed note, or missed beat, or off-key vocal.... it ALL sounded giant, beautiful & evocative to me: full of spirit and the sound of seasoned musicians at play in a historical moment playing the music that they created & that is forever deeply ingrained in all of our individual lexicons of creative identity - and there-fore each playing with a dedication to get it right... in the moment. I can hear it. Beautiful.
Martin Stebbing is at work mixing the Chicago PDP Audio, and because he is in Indiana mixing it, I have not heard his mixes yet. But Ted has heard the tapes and he is Super stoked. Martin, Ted & I will come together to pull the final mix at the very end of the process. We have a nice synergy together in the studio but, these early stages are where the heavy lifting is done: I trust Martin and Ted with my sonic life. I love the way they work and the dedication they have to sound.
This music means a lot to all of us in the band, production & stage crew, and to get it right at this point in time in our arc is really important to us, and you have helped to make this happen... THANK YOU!
We are solidly on schedule for a late july release :)
I am heading out to Washington D.C. in April to join forces with Brian and Jon, who are at work on the task of prepping for editing (formatting multiple camera footage & syncing audio)... We will be deep in editing by late April. General documentary footage will be added over the the next few months, to finally be blended in with the final edit during june and july.
It's a big undertaking, and one that we are taking a lot of pleasure taking one step at a time and watching it come to life. It is a beautiful thing :)
We cannot thank you enough.
As soon as there is some finalized bits, we will find an exclusive way to post them to you all who have supported this from the beginning, and who have partnered with us to make to come to life. We love you.

THE DINNER PARTY-- Chef Frank Orrall loves to cook, and is pretty good at it too!
