Poi Dog Pondering: 25 year Retrospective Concert DVD and Live Recording set:
POI fans are AMAZING!!!!!!!
you all helped us reach our modest goal in ONE WEEK! Thank you everyone, and LET'S KEEP THIS GOING! if we get enough funds, we can hope for more extras, better packaging than just simple clamshell packaging… maybe a booklet… maybe even blu-ray dvds!!!
We have RECORDED and FILMED both of the AMAZING benchmark 25th-year anniversary "Division of Labor / A Tale Of Two Cities" retrospective Poi shows that occurred at the Metro in Chicago on December 2nd & December 3rd, 2011. Both nights were MONUMENTAL shows!
We documented these nights with two objectives:
1) To complete a live VIDEO RELEASE of the concerts.
2) To complete a live AUDIO RELEASE of the concerts.
Make no mistake! The concert DVDs will be THE ULTIMATE POI LIVE EXPERIENCE! Pledging JUST $50 will help us out a ton and GUARANTEE you a copy of the DVDs and audio release!
The film crew (all poi friends and fans) all donated their time and equipment to document the night, and make sure the night was preserved, but WE NEED YOUR HELP to raise funds to cover the base expensive costs of video editing, color correction, post-production, audio mixing, and packaging. ALSO, WE ARE SURPASSING our base funding goal as much as possible, so we can hope for more extras, more quality, and/or bigger/better awesome artwork/booklet for the packaging!
As we release our own recordings, run our own record company out of our own studio, we hope that you might be willing to collaborate with us financially to make this happen. We are rolling up our sleeves to reward you with some AWESOME STUFF and rare goodies as a thank you for believing in us. Please help spread the word about this Kickstarter campaign far and wide!

THE STUDIO LOVER-- Visit the Poi Dog Pondering studio for a day (up to approx 4 hours) while they mix the live record. While there, pick any one song you want, and Frank Orrall will record a one-of-a-kind acoustic version of your song choice right there in front of YOU in the Poi studio that you can take home with you. If you're lucky, you might even get to sing or play along! [*note: limited number of takes and setup capabilities.] Have access to see some raw footage of the live DVD before editing is completed. + DVD, CD or DOWNLOAD of the Retrospective concert CD set.

ORIGINAL PAINTING-- Frank Orrall likes to paint. He paints in earth tones on wood panels with acrylic, and often of plants, flowers, animals or people. This is your chance to own an ORIGINAL Frank Orrall Painting! Sizes vary as he likes to use found wood, but approx 2 x 3 feet in size, packed up and shipped to you (shipping charges could be free, depending size of piece and on your location). + DVD, CD or DOWNLOAD of the Retrospective concert CD set.

THE INSTRUMENT-- Frank loves to collect instruments from around the world to use in his recordings. You will receive an ACTUAL INSTRUMENT from Frank's collection, signed by Frank. This is a bit of a mystery instrument based of size of pledge, but be assurred it will likely be artistically customized by Frank, have been performed with on many stages, it will be of worthy value, it will be well used, and will have soul. + DVD, CD or DOWNLOAD of the Retrospective concert CD set.

THE DINNER PARTY-- Chef Frank Orrall loves to cook, and is pretty good at it too! Loving a good dinner party, he will show up at YOUR HOUSE with the groceries (date subject to schedule), the bubbly and a guitar, cook dinner for you and 8 of your friends, then the guitar always comes out and songs get sung. You can kick him out whenever you want, and you might have too, as he tends to be the last one standing :) (* note: If you live more than two hours away from Chicago, you will need to cover basic travel expenses and modest hotel expenses if overnight) + DVD, CD or DOWNLOAD of the Retrospective concert CD set.

Poi Dog Pondering keeps thriving because their ethic has always been about following their musical heart. Their steadfast independence has allowed them to perennially bloom. Multi-racial, Omni-sexual, and unafraid to be themselves, they prowl the musical landscape with a hungry belly. They seem to live in a frame of mind more akin to the 30's and 40's Bohemians.
Known as "The little big band with the strong back and supple / stubborn heart", PDP has been following it's intuition for 25 years now. From bohemian street buskers to impossible-to-market major-label sacrificial lambs... Poi Dog Pondering have ripened into staunchly independent musical voyagers. They have let every sound that excited them flow through their music and flood it with ever changing colors; Rock and Soul, Orchestral, Acoustic and Electronic textures, Americana, Disco and International Grooves. All threaded along the way with lyrics that embrace the beauty and pain that life can bring.
