We believe in magic. And we believe in the magical powers of animation. This all begins in our childhood, which was, we are sure, not unlike yours. When we were children, we fed our gargantuan imagination on comics, cartoons and movies like there was no tomorrow. The only future we thought of was the one we could travel to in time-traveling machines built by mad scientists or thanks to the powers beyond belief of brightly colored superheroes. Then, as years went by, the responsibilities of adulthood came by and overthrew the imaginary kingdom of our childhood. It became much harder to dream, to roam freely through the realms of our imagination. Those were the days of never ending extra-hours and exhaustion. We had to make a living and the ability to dream, we were told, had nothing to do with it. That’s how we lost many years of our lives working in awful places, mainly call-centers.

Then came the day when we lost our senses, and what a joyful day that was. Mad as hatters, we said to ourselves “let’s quit our jobs! Let’s make a cartoon about them!” As we quit our jobs and walked back home we may have seemed as regular guys to a stranger, but deep within ourselves we felt as if we were walking a yellow brick road. And that road has led us here, to you, kind reader. We are no tiger, no scarecrow, no tin-man, we are no girl in stolen shoes; we are merely fierce dreamers, one of us a filmmaker, the other an illustrator and the other one a writer, and we want to share our dream with you.

During the years we spent working at call-centers we became aware that beyond all the disenchantment and the dreadful everyday routine there were many tales that needed to be told. We noticed an unpolished sort of dignity in everyone around us; we knew they were, like us, struggling individuals, unique, special, trying not to get lost amidst a system that insists on making everyone the same. So we came up with the idea of this magical place, a hectic city called Estridentópolis, quite similar to any city around the world (quite similar to yours, for instance), inhabited by individuals with unique abilities who, nonetheless, are constantly told to live ordinary lives in order to fit in. Their ordeal is, in more ways than one, ours. Our series focuses on the lives and mishaps of the staff members of a call-center that services the peculiar needs of this city.

With your help, we intend to complete the pilot episode of the series. Characters and settings have already been developed. The pilot episode has been fully scripted, and there is a detailed outline of the whole season. Once we have obtained the much needed funding we will produce the episode, 20 minutes long, within 3 months. We will rely solely on our independent resources, thus cutting production costs by nearly a tenth of what it would take a commercial studio to produce an episode like this.  And we will do so while maintaining the highest quality because we will be fully involved in every step of the production process. Our imagination and hard work will stand behind every single frame.
