About this project

In the family feature screenplay “The Heart Sees No Color”, Melody, a Caucasian nurse and widow of five years, sees the pain that Chris, an African American personal trainer, is going through over the recent loss of his wife. She feels compelled to offer comfort. Over the course of time, love blossoms.

Melody and Chris each have two children. Melody has two boys, Danny, 13, and Patrick, 11. Chris has a son, Michael, 14, and a daughter, Jasmine, 6. Michael and Danny at first find themselves rivaling over attention and girls, but in time they come together to organize a race to help those suffering with the specific cancer that led to the death of Michael and Jasmine's mom.

While Melody, Chris and their children bond, the families face obstacles. Specific people in their lives do not approve of their new relationships. Vivian, Chris’s sister, is determined to break up Chris and Melody’s relationship because Will, Vivian’s husband, once found himself in the arms of a white mistress. Melody’s mother is hesitant to accept Chris because interracial relationships were not common during her youthful years. Dr. Beal, Melody’s boss, is jealous of their relationship and threatens her job security. Just as Melody and Chris feel the full strength of their challenges, Will has a near brush with death. It's when the possibility of losing her husband becomes real, that Vivian begins to view things differently. She comes to realize that though the eyes see color, the heart does not!

Jeannie Sconzo

Connected as Jeannie Sconzo (1046 friends)

After having been a registered nurse for seven years, I considered changing careers. So in 2001, I enrolled in The American Academy of Dramatic Arts where I studied performance. I went on to act in stage productions such as "Tony and Tina's Wedding" as well as training videos and independent films all while continuing nursing once a week. In 2007 I decided to write scripts for myself. After having written, produced and starred in three short films, I'm ready to take on a feature, God willing.
