Thanks, Kelvin. The extra magnet, as you said, increases the bond strength. And that makes a world of difference to me. When I first tried spinning my wacom pen, it kept flying off, I actually ordered a replacement pen.. just in case. I think penmoto users would benefit tremendously from stronger magnets.

    6. Penmoto orbit logo thought.thumb
      Kelvin Geis on February 11

Not everyone uses the Teflon dots, some people have found that they like it better without. The extra Teflon dots are replacements, and can also be stacked if a single dot is peeling up.

The extra magnet is simply placed between the ring and coupler. It is your option to add Teflon dots or not. A single large extra magnet acts as a bearing and keeps the secondary magnets from touching so that it is easier to get your pen to spin.

Additionally, your PenMoto can easily be custom sized to your finger with a little superglue. Here is a video demonstration.

I reread update #34, and still unclear:

      1. are the extra disks replacements? Don't I already have one installed on my ring and coupler; and so I would use the replacement if the installed one comes off? Or are you suggesting that I can enhance/improve my current experience (which I'd like to improve) using these PTFE discs?

      2. "Extra Magnet + TEFLON dots + Chapstick® = SPIN"
Could you provide more info on this formula? How do you suggest I use an extra magnet? Do I apply the TEFLON dots over the existing ones (see 1. above)?

    8. Penmoto orbit logo thought.thumb
      Kelvin Geis on February 8

PTFE discs are to protect the magnet surfaces, as well as reduce friction to flatten the learning curve. You can also use one of the extra magnets to spin with greater ease.
Update #34 has more description regarding this. It was a little hidden with a lot of other stuff, but here is a link.

I have to disagree with David Metcalfe.

The black plastic bands ARE different than the CNC-milled prototypes in the video. I believe they're injection-molded plastic, (They have a somewhat visible join running the circumference.)

However, they feel perfectly solid and I'm happy with the build quality. I've been wearing the ring more or less since I opened the package, and I've taken the couplers on and off a large number of pens. I know It's only been a few days, but so far no issues at all.

These rings are made of the same molded plastic that virtually everything in stores is made of nowadays. Just like they said they would be.

      David Metcalfe on January 30

Just got my set in the mail today. Had I known that everything under $150 would be cheap plastic, I'd have thought twice on buying. The only good thing to come from the $70 purchase was the Wacom stylus, and even then that's small comfort for the other $40.

The black composite material in the video is not what you receive here. These rings are extremely thin, and feel very flimsy. The adhesive and 3M magnet pads are not done well either, with blemishes, residue, or the pads lifting up. This feels like a prototype set rather than something of quality that I'd buy in a store.

      Very misleading advertising.

      Fantastic.

I'm really happy with my PenMoto. I especially enjoy using it with a mechanical pencil so I can switch almost instantly between writing and typing.

I know it only saves me a couple of seconds here and there, but it FEELS like it's made a huge difference. If it prevents me from losing my train of thought, even once per day, then it's more than paid for itself.

I'm very happy with the PenMoto. Good value for the money.

No if you'll excuse me, I've got to go put couplers on all my pens.

Using my Penmoto now. It's amazing!
It took an evening but now I'm twirling the pen around quite easily, and I'm looking forward to getting even better with it.
Typing with pen in hand is now a breeze. This was everything I had hoped for, and more.
Thanks so much, PenMoto team! I love my Penmoto :)

Just got mine today! I'm still working on the most comfortable/workable placement. I have small hands and my Wacom stylus is almost larger than the length of my hand so placing the connector on the stylus so that it's offset doesn't quite work. But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it!
