The Folie à Deux Adventure Tour!

Sit Kitty Sit is headed out on our first major tour, traveling from Rhode Island to Louisiana, and we would like to invite you to come along and be a part of this kick-ass adventure. There will be tons of music and fun on this sixteen-day journey and we want to share every step of the way with you! The tour will conclude with us recording an album of songs written during and inspired by our adventure and presented as a limited release album exclusively to those of you who love us enough to help make this all happen.

The Name (Le Nom):

Folie à Deux  (Madness of Two)

(fô-lē' ä dœ')

n.  A condition in which symptoms of a mental disorder, such as the same delusional beliefs or ideas, occur simultaneously in two individuals who share a close relationship or association such as family members, siblings, etc.

 Sound familiar?

The Mission  (L’affectation):

·      To leave home for 16 days, travel to the other side of the country, and play to room after room full of people who have never heard anything like us.

·      To play at least one show per day quite possibly against the will of those present.  Imagine being stuck next to us on a long flight.

·      To perform 2 “live from the hotel room” concerts via Google Plus, Quiet hours be damned!

·      To record a Daily Video Blog, keeping fans updated about our good times & tough times while traveling.

·      To create clever art pieces out of random stuff we find on the road

·      And Finally - - To write AN ENTIRE NEW ALBUM while we’re on the road – and then give it to you as a present :)       

The Tour  (L’excursion):

We will begin this Folie à Deux in Westerly, RI at the annual benefit concert for the Philip B. Agins Five-Week Summer Performance Program Scholarship Fund .   This scholarship enables one gifted student the chance to attend The Berklee School of Music’s Summer Performance Program.  Phil was a brilliant musician and close friend of Mike’s who sadly passed away in 2008.  We are so honored to be a part of this evening of rocking out in Phil’s memory.

From Westerly, we will tour 5 days south through

·      New York

·      Philadelphia

·      Asheville

&    Nashville

Ending up in the great city of New Orleans.

Let the Good Times Roll!  “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”

October 26th Mike gets to rest while Kat rocks out at the Anne Rice Vampire Ball with this year’s headliners, San Francisco’s own, Saints of Ruin.

After SKS' New Orleans debut on the 27th, we'll travel to

·      Biloxi

·      Lafayette

&    Baton Rouge

We’ll be wrapping up this “tour de force” back in New Orleans on Halloween night.

The finalized tour schedule will be announced the second week of August.

The Album  (L’album):

The songs for the “Folie à Deux Adventure Album” will be entirely written while on the road, each song inspired by the tour itself.  We will rehearse the hell out of them when we arrive home in November and promptly go into the recording studio in December 2012.  Mixed, mastered and still oozing that new album smell, the record will go to press in January of 2013 and will be delivered to your door warm and happy in February of 2013.  

Yeah, we can’t wait to hear it either.
