Hi, I'm Katie.
I am a singer-songwriter based in Stockholm, Sweden. I've been making music for quite some time now, but only started taking it seriously over the past few years. Last year, I released a 3 song EP titled "Oak & Iron" (download here). The feedback I received was truly encouraging, and gave me the confidence to continue pursuing my dream of being a full-time musician. 
A few months ago, I set my heart on recording a full length album. I didn't really know how I was going to pull it off financially and logistically, but I just felt that now was the time to do it. 
Logistically, almost everything has fallen in to place. The financial part is where I need your help! 
Before you start to think "Wait a minute, doesn't this girl WORK? Why should I give her money?", the answer to your question is: YES, I do! I work full-time. However, seeing as though my hubby is a student, I'm pretty much the bread-winner around here. (By the way, he's the one who made my video. Didn't he do a lovely job?) In short, saving enough money to cover the cost of an album could take quite. some. TIME. And I don't think I am patient enough to record this album at the age of 40. ;) 
Here's the deal - I need at least $5000 to cover the following: 
* Renting a studio
* Paying my sound engineer and producer
* Hiring musicians
Unless I raise more than $5000, the costs of mixing, mastering, and packaging will fall to me, which I will try and handle.  
As always, I believe that love and vulnerability are key to reaching hearts. And I intend in putting a fair share of both those ingredients in this record.
