PILGRIMAGE

This film is a remake of a video we (Anthony Ladson and Alex Saar) made a year ago called Pilgrimage. The story follows a wise, elderly man as he leads a young neophyte through the woods.  The pair venture deep into the forest, in search of a being described as "the embodiment of silence". This project was done for a class called 'Directing Actors.' Due to the limitations of a school project, the original version of Pilgrimage was rushed. Looking back on the project, there were many aspects of this story that I felt needed exploring. Check it out for yourself:

A PILGRIMAGE

The film we're seeking funding for, tentatively titled, A Pilgrimage, is a reworked, clearer exploration of the themes and plot of the original film. The story is expanded, and we get a deeper sense of who these two men are. Their motivations are clearer 

In Pilgrimage, the crew consisted on myself and Alex. Since then, I've shot three short movies with a crew, and have come to cherish the collaborative aspects of filmmaking. Working with a crew also allows proper care to be given to the performances of the actors and the overall pacing of the film. The script for the original Pilgrimage had to be written in less than a week. For this new rework, not only did I spend several months writing and rewriting, I also had a year to consider the strengths and weaknesses of the original idea and script.

Glad you asked. I too am a big fan of seeing exactly where my money is going. Below you'll find an abbreviated budget that should clearly outline the costs:

Preproduction: $705.00

Cast: $645.00

Set Operations: $1950.00

Rentals: $950.00

Food: $700.00

Transportation: $800.00

Post: $350.00

TOTAL BUDGET: $6100.00

As you can see, our cost are many. $5000 only represents the bare minimum we'd need to complete a movie with the level of proficiency we are striving for. Regardless of what you donate, be it $1000 or a facebook-like, it is greatly appreciated and it will help this film get made.
