It's been just over a month since we we got funded and we have been hard at work on the boards. We were expecting to have the boards finished and out the door by the end of June, we however received such an overwhelming response to whether or not we would be doing an expansion edition we decided to redesign this one so that it would be able to accommodate the future expansion update. We didn't want our original backers to have to repurchase the board later. 

What does this means for you?

• You will receive a redesigned and upgraded board - This is what has put us the furthest behind on our production schedule because we had to go through a few prototypes to get a working model
• You will not have to repurchase the board - when we release the 5 to 6 player expansion edition there will only be a few board extension pieces you need
• You are getting a much better board - this board now contains over 110 individual pieces, before it was closer to 55. Also we have gone through 3 more prototypes to work out even more of the bugs before shipping them to you. 

So what exactly did we change?

We changed the playing surface so that it would slide apart, this was the largest change. The surface pulls apart in the middle with two embedded magnets to accommodate the future 5 to 6 player expansion upgrade

We redesigned how the drawers worked. Instead of 2 drawer rails on either side we created an enclosed pocket for the drawer to slide into so when the drawer is shut they are completely enclosed to prevent the pieces from coming out inside of the pedestal. We also added magnets in the back of the drawers and inside of the pedestal to hold the drawers shut. 

We also upgraded the border engravings to a more intricate design.

Where are we at in Production?

We just finished the first third and got them all packaged up and shipped. And are working on the next set now. We apologize that we are behind our estimate to have them all done by June but we think you will like the changes that have slowed us down. When it came down to it we just really wanted to give our original investors the best product we could and that to us was making it capable for the future expansion set.

The short of it is they are coming. It is a labor of love but we hope you all enjoy them. 

Thank you to everyone that has sent in your suggestions for improving the board. We have taken them in and here is what we are doing.

Due to the high amount of interest in a board that allows for play with the 5 to 6 player expansion pack we have begun design a new board that will accommodate both the standard version and the 5 to 6 player expansion. 

What we have decided to do with this current Store and Play Board is to increase the pedestal height by 1/4 inch, in order to fit the additional playing pieces in the expansion pack as well as attach the current standard playing surface to the pedestal using magnets instead of glue. This will allow the board to be upgraded when the expansion version is released without having to repurchase the entire pedestal. This will also allow you to playing with the playing surface by itself or while attached to the pedestal making it even more versatile.

In our testing we found that our drawers came open way to easily. This made it awkward to move pedestal around with everything in it. 

So we have redesigned the drawers to use magnets to hold them closed. This makes it easier to store and transport and yet keeps the easily removable drawers. We hope you like the upgrade.
