About this project
Psyche Corporation is filming a music video this summer (2011) for the song "Oh", from our upcoming 4th album. As you might have seen from our youtube channel (youtube.com/psychecorp), our previous two music videos were both no-budget endeavors. A lot of fun, but the production values could be better.
We want this music video to look slicker than the previous videos. That means better equipment (ex. HD camera, lights, filters, lenses), getting raw materials (for costumes, make-up, mud, scales, buckets of paint, what-have-you), props, and a little something to cover travel and a little food for the crew/dancers and pay for on-location filming permits. Give me a chance to make a better music video; you know I will work like a rabid weasel at it.
This time, we have a seasoned director on board and fashion styling elements by an experienced designer who's worked on costuming for major films such as The Tempest. This has a lot of potential. We just need a little help.
Note: The director tells me that ideally we would want to raise $1,000 to $2,000 for the music video, but I'm setting the funding goal at $500 because I think we can still make something better than no-budget on $500. However, there are interesting sets and such that we would build if we could get to $1,000 so just remember that there's no rule against a project getting More than its threshold amount!

I don't think anyone's actually going to donate this amount. But if you prove me wrong, you get the same stuff as for $250 AND I will list you in the credits for the 4th album, because I will be writing something (an odd little poem perhaps?) in the liner notes inspired by you, your name, whatever you want to tell me about yourself. Also, you have the option of being listed as a Bakker in the music video credits instead of as a backer or co-producer. It just shows how special you are that I'm willing to put typos in my credits for you. Also, if you are able to take care of your own transportation/lodging, I will take you on an exploring adventure through some of the cool places I know about, and talk your ear off for an afternoon or so.

Drawing much of its aesthetic from steampunk fashions and the neo-vintage movement, Psyche Corporation seeks to combine art, fashion, dance, and science within the framework of a technomythological world of life-extension and virtual reality servers full of wonderful nightmares. Psyche Corp. specializes in an unique genre often described as dark victorian fairytale science fiction. The band itself is named after a dream manufacture group from the future where widespread neural implants have allowed people to jack their nerve endings directly into the internet and download dreams. As a performance group, Psyche Corporation has at various times incorporated robot exhibitions, steel origami cranes, contortion, corsets, flashlights, and old radios. The music spans genres; a recent song has mixed tribal singing with classical piano while embedding poliovirus DNA into its percussion.
