I am glad to be backing this project. However as a backer I would like to make one very important request. Please release the film under a Creative Common Copyright license (https://creativecommons.org).
By releasing the film under a CC license you will allow it to be legally shared and possibly allow it to be remixed were new creative art can be derived from your creative art. Allowing a film to be legally shared will drive up enormous interest in the film and will thus boost sales for the film at the box office and DVD/Blu-ray sales. Take the bold step as others have done, like the 'Nasty Old People' (2009) film. You could and should also take the progressive step of having a single worldwide release date and make Region 0 DVD's and Blu-ray's available to buy at the cinema after screenings similar to the documentary film 'Hungry For Change' (2012) http://digg.com/!daBD4B5 .
You are putting faith in us to back you, and I for one want to put faith in you to continue on this journey of experimentation, breaking down the barriers of the traditional Hollywood Studios institution and be as progressive as you can with new thinking on how to deliver, our film, to a worldwide audience.

I see that we're doing nothing short of MAKING FILM HISTORY!
For one: we're contributing to making a movie along with 2 artists with more than 1 generation-defining works (PS: American Gigolo, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull; BEE: Less Than Zero, American Psycho).
And two: we're participating in forging a new model by allowing the artists & the audience to self-finance their film outside of the traditional channels which have a tendency to thwart the artistic.
Hmmm... What more could you ask for?!

This was pretty much a no brainer as BEE is my favorite author of all time (and made me want to be a writer myself). And after watching Schrader's version of the Exorcist prequel and enjoying it, I know these two are a match made in heaven. When I first saw the tweet from BEE, I didn't know what to think. It seems like it could be an interesting film, since the story was created by Brett and is also being written by him and Paul Schrader, one of the most legendary screenwriters in Hollywood. Between this and Cosmopolis, the next two years might just contain my favorite films.
