The great new musical Zombie Wedding is getting an online, week-long Halloween screening and its own official sound track!
A peak at the show
Thanks and hello to everyone who has so far shown an interest in the Gorleston production of Zombie Wedding. From hereon in we are going to be posting regular updates of videos, photo shoots from our various marketing escapades and cast interviews.
Tell your friends!
Zombie Wedding is a brand new musical comedy created by British composer Daniel Sturman and American lyricist RC Staab that is having its UK premiere this coming October at the Pavilion Theatre in Gorleston, Norfolk on the east coast of England.
Set in the 1980s, this is a good old fashioned love story with a twist, where the main characters Neil, Cathy and Keith are caught in a love triangle that is fuelled by a zombie infestation and has just about the best happy ending you could ask for in a zombie wedding musical, with some killer songs and comedy along the way!
We want to get Zombie Wedding professionally filmed and edited in order to get it online so as many people as possible can enjoy this brand new musical comedy. Alongside this we want to get into the recording studio and produce an official sound track to share with people.
This is where we need your help! The filming, editing and streaming of the show will all cost money that our core production budget simply cannot cover, as will the hire of the recording studio to produce the album.
This time last year Zombie Wedding was staged for the first time, rocking out The Ellen Stewart Theatre at La MaMa in Manhattan as part of the New York Fringe Festival. We were lucky enough to have a TONY nominee director, a fantastic cast and creative team and audiences who even dressed up as zombies! (Take note our UK audience, follow this trend and you might just earn yourself a secret zombie present ... )
The show was considered one of the Fringe's top picks and this prompted us to take the show over to England in order to stage its UK premiere. Sturman and Staab have added more songs, more jokes and (perhaps more importantly) more zombies and the show is now even stronger than it was before, with big act openers and closers.
The Gorleston Production
We've chosen the Gorleston Pavilion Theatre as Zombie Wedding's new home, which is a beautiful and original Edwardian seaside theatre that seats around 300 at relaxed cabaret style seating (which means our zombie audience can have a drink whilst watching the show) - the perfect size for us and very atmospheric!
We're very lucky to have amazing local talent here in the UK and as such we've gathered a very special cast for the production that includes rock singers, trained stage fighters and even London 2012 Olympic ceremony dancers! As for our creatives, our incredible team of wardrobe, hair and make up stylists are working extremely hard to recreate the middle-American 80s costumes, hair styles and make up effects to reflect the setting for the show.
Everyone here at the production is putting their all into making this just as successful (if not more so) than the New York show - we've even gate crashed an actual wedding dressed as zombies to create a bit of a buzz locally! They were good sports.
Thanks so much for your support!
Daniel, RC, Alex, Sabelline and the rest of the Zombie Wedding cast and crew
