I'm asking for your help to bring The Passover Seder back into print in time for Passover 2013.

You may know my other books, Hanukkah: A Counting Book in English, Hebrew, and Yiddish and The Kids' Fun book of Jewish Time. The reprint of The Passover Seder will be produced by the same printer used by Scholastic Inc.

The Passover Seder was first published by Scholastic in 2003 and remained in print until 2010. Since then, as Passover draws near, desperate phone calls and emails begin from shops and individuals looking for copies. Libby in Tucson writes, "Why is this out of print??? It's wonderful." 

Scholastic sold 55,000 copies of The Passover Seder before selling out. For a large publisher, the sale of 2,500 copies a year is peanuts. But, for the customers — secular to Orthodox, interfaith, and, even, non-Jewish families — hoping to use my book to engage young readers, the same quantity is significant.

This an expensive book to produce. Wheels, flaps, pillows, and fake parsley do not come cheaply. Kickstarter money will cover production, safety-testing, and shipping costs. And, if my campaign raises $6,000 above my goal of $15,000, development of the iPad edition will commence immediately!

If the project is not fully funded, you will not be charged. The next generation will miss out on this fun book, but, hey, don't feel guilty.
