Original songs about libraries, literacy, and an appreciation of life, friends, and music.
I have been writing songs my whole life and feel like I have something worthy to share with the world. If my kickstarter project is a success, I will use the money to master and duplicate a CD of original songs.
I have been incredibly blessed with the generosity of friends and family and even strangers who have helped make what I have already accomplished possible. Most especially, my friend David who has recorded and engineered the album and helped inspire the best in me. Any money contributed that is beyond what is needed for the actual CD will help to properly compensate these folks for their efforts and talent. Also, my friend Jeff, who helped me make this kickstarter video. He has agreed to accept payment upon successful funding of the project, which is either really risky on his part or says a lot about the faith he has in me and my music. I also couldn't have come this far without Magic Mellon, who not only plays on the album, but has been there to guide and challenge me.
There are so many to mention and their names will be in the credits. I would like to make sure that all of these people are notably rewarded. If there is any money left beyond that, I will use it to start a DVD project of music videos of the songs.
Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Once my project is funded I will be faced with the task of mastering and duplicating the CD. I have lots of ideas for artwork and photographs for the jewel case and will be figuring out the layout of the credits and style of CD inserts. The challenges that lie ahead are an opportunity for me to be creative and express myself in yet another way with this project. I am looking forward to the process.
I would also like to have a CD release party, so that the community can get behind the project and encourage others to find joy in it as well.
I think the biggest challenge we face in anything we do is ourselves. I hope to keep a positive outlook and hopeful presence of mind about this project, and in life in general. I think that attitude is expressed in my music and I believe it will inspire it in others. Cheers!
