Instrumental rock/fusion album
Project by Darren Nelsen
Project by Darren Nelsen

I'm raising $2,500 to record my first album in March 2010. (This is half of the expected $5,000 in production costs. I'm fronting the other half.)
The musical style is instrumental rock/fusion. Think Steve Morse, Eric Johnson, or Joe Satriani with a twist of Frank Zappa. I am the composer/arranger/guitarist/bandleader. I have a great band (guitar, bass, drums). Rehearsals are going well and everything is on target.
I have a schedule and plan to write and arrange approx. 20 compositions before March 1. I've written 11 so far. I write and practice the material every day (pushing myself as a composer and player) and rehearse the band bi-weekly.
The album will be recorded in mid-March. I've asked two celebrity guitarists to appear on the album. I won't say who they are until the album is fully recorded :), but suffice it to say I'm super thrilled about playing with my heroes! This will be a dream come true for me.
The album will be released probably in June. (I will post the precise date as we get closer.)
The money covers costs including studio facility rental, engineer, per diems for musicians, mixing, mastering, CD duplication, and miscellaneous costs (guitar setups, etc.) Also costs of goods for merchandise (t-shirts, posters, etc.)
I am so very grateful to each and every fan and supporter. I will do all I can to help you feel a part of this project.
Thank you!
