Hi Everyone!
The show at Bay Area Maker Faire 2012 was perfect. We had a keyboard out for people to play music on the coil. It was a hit! People lined up to play the keyboard and all had huge smiles on their faces! CamDAX was invited on stage and was awarded the Maker Faire Editor's Choice Award! We also made great friends with our inspiration Arc Attack! They were awesome! Wednesday at home, we worked on the coil trying to get it working. It worked for a bit, then stopped, and then power went out. It came back on at 12:17am! We got to the faire Thursday morning and the coil wasn't working. We went over to meet our mentor Steve Ward, who is a Tesla Coil Designer for Arc Attack and our coil is based on his schematics. Cameron and Steve had been emailing back and forth for months about the tesla coil design. He came over and started troubleshooting our coil. Then, all the other guys of Arc Attack Joe, John, & Sam came over and helped us get the coil working perfectly! They worked on it with us for two days Thursday and Friday until the security kicked us out each night. They helped us for a total of around 10 hours. Around 9:20 pm Friday night, the coil finally worked! As a thanks, we gave them one of our Fused Glass Lightning sculptures and made them some cookies to show our appreciation. When they brought him up on stage to give him the Editor's Choice Award, Cameron got to dance in their Faraday Cage! On Monday, Cameron helped Arc Attack pack up to go to their next gig and got to see the inside of Arc Attack's tesla coils! This was an amazing experience for CamDAX and BATEC. We will be sending out all the rewards as soon as you finish your surveys. Thank you so much for your support! This was an AMAZING experience and it wouldn't have happened without you!
We have been busy programming a few simple applications for the control panel. The applications we have are Lock, Fire, Pulsed Fire, Backer Thanks, and Settings.
