We've spent the past week running workshops for students (over 130 so far!). We had a blast and so did our new "Sparkees." Here are some pictures and postcards we got from the students after running the workshops.
Yesterday was quite an eventful day! MAKE posted our project on their blog (thanks Michelle) and we also blasted past the 100 backer mark! Oh, and did we mention – we're 25% of the way to our goal!!!

You guys are AMAZING! We can honestly say that watching our list of backers grow (to almost 90!) over the past few days has really kept the energy level here super high (which is a good thing since we're all pretty low on sleep)! Thanks so much for your support, and an even bigger thanks for telling your friends about our campaign. We appreciate all your messages of support, and we're super excited to be closing in on the $5000 mark!
Over the past few days, we've been busy contacting teachers and parents, setting up times to run some prototype workshops at their schools. So far we've gotten the go-ahead from two local schools and are feverishly crafting some awesome workshops to bring to the students there. We're always on the lookout for more schools to visit, so if any of you have relationships with a school you think might like a visit from SparkLab, definitely let us know!

We've gotten a couple questions about our long-term vision recently and wanted to share our plans for the future.
We're strong believers in scalability and impact. Our ultimate goal is to have permanent facilities installed in schools, prepackaged units that PTAs can purchase, and online resources that let people replicate the facilites and activities we're developing.
