An elegant homage to my favorite artist Georgia O’Keefe.
Hello There! I am Blake Heminger – a visual artist. Welcome to my Kickstarter project, "Georgia’s On My Mind". It is my homage to American artist Georgia O’Keefe and hopefully my entry in the 2012 ArtPrize® competition. What is ArtPrize®? ArtPrize® is a Grand Rapids, Michigan radically open art competition, giving away the world's largest art prize. This international art contest, part arts festival - part social experiment, is decided solely on a public vote. ArtPrize® begins September 19, 2012 and ends October 07, 2012.
How Will the Funding Be Used?
My travel and lodging expenses will be paid for out of my own, personal savings. However, this supplemental funding will help to pay for the printing, framing and shipment to Grand Rapids. My intentions are to create a beautiful, high quality, visual art exhibition. I have currently submitted my proposal to 30 venues for their consideration as a "host venue" during the competition.
