Welcome to Transient Theater's 2012 Support Campaign

Transient Theater is a traveling theater cooperative with members across the country. This year we'll be putting together our first production in San Francisco, but we won't just be performing there. In fact, this is the whole point of Transient Theater. We have Ambassadors (a.k.a.- co-producers) in various cities who are working with the Production Team to bring Transient Theater's mission to you.  And what is our mission?  That's a good question.

Transient Theater strives to inspire new levels of understanding and empathy in its audience members by producing brave and smart plays in a sustainable way. We challenge our audiences to sympathize with someone they wouldn't normally identify with in their day-to-day lives.  At our most successful, we'll plant the seeds for a revolution of empathy. At the very least, we'll have fun trying.  (Read more about this sort of thing here.)

Traveling across the country with 5 people is a big deal. Add to that approximately 30 shows in 6 weeks and it becomes an even bigger deal.  Add to that performing in non-traditional spaces like bars and warehouses and... you get the picture.  It's a huge deal and it's going to be a great adventure, but we need help making it happen.

There are lots of ways to help, but there's one main way, and we're going to tell you about that right here, right now.

PUT YOUR CITY ON THE MAP!

That's right.  We need to know where to go.  You have two ways to vote for adding your city to our itinerary.  The first way to vote is by giving 10 or more dollars to our Kickstarter Campaign.  That's this thing.  Right here.  (What are we going to do with the money?  Take a look at our budget.)

The second way to vote is by contributing to our In-Kind Donation Campaign.  Here you can offer a non-financial gift, like a place to sleep, food, a venue, or a special skill.

After you have done one or both of these things we will contact you and get your vote for your city.  If you really want to be sure we make it to you then you'll want to ask your friends to vote for your city too.

Be sure to check our website, Facebook page, or blog for frequent updates about how the votes are stacking up.  We'll announce our final itinerary once the campaign ends and all of the votes have been counted.
