New Systems is my thesis project focused on illustrating the new ways individuals are coming together to affect change.
This past year has seen dramatic changes across the globe. From Cairo and Libya to New York and many other countries around the world, people are interacting with each other in a new and important way.
Using the Internet, people are learning to collaborate with others on a global scale. For my thesis, I want to document the new ways we are communicating and what we are can accomplish using this new collaborative technology.
For this project, which I'm calling New Systems, I'm compiling a visual record of these communities using my trusty medium format camera. The images that I can capture using this camera are magnificent and your contribution to this find raiser would help pay for film and developing costs incurred by this research.
I believe that as we move deeper into the twenty first century these kind of communities will become essential parts of our lives. Occupy Wall Street was a great example of a New System in action and I have shot hundreds of pictures there during the protest but this represents only a small portion of the subject matter I intend to explore. Collaborative opportunities are everywhere in the digital sphere. I want to explore how these communities work, who is involved in them, how they grow and hopefully figure out how to make them work better.
