A seamless intersection of life, art and authenticity.
We are seeking funds to produce the latest intergenerational, multi-media, dance / theater performance from non profit, Turning the Wheel. This piece, called I Knew That Once, will weave together the stories of the dancers and explore ways of expressing and connecting in contemporary times. It will be performed in Missoula, MT on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2012, in the Masquer Theatre on the University of Montana campus.
Created by TTW Founder Alana Shaw, eight trained Turning the Wheel facilitators from around the country, a multi-instrumental improvisational musician and a cast of 30, this show is an amazing and truly astonishing blend of movement and theater. It is a fun, colorful, lively and sacred mix of beautiful video footage, eccentric costumes with wild hats, live improvisational music with Jesse Manno, humorous poetic prose and rhyme, the beautiful, healing, surround sound from the Missoula Women's Chorus, and a set installation that will transform the Masquer Theater into a glittering cave of possibilities.
The show reminds us that creating the world we want is not an illusion, but completely possible.
The cast includes people ages 5 - 75, folks with varied abilities, and folks who are professional actors and dancers all mixed together in a seamless intersection of life and art, authenticity and professionalism.
