The second release of songs by singer/songwriter J.Evans Carver
The follow up to Junkie is to be recorded at Ol Elegante in Birmingham, Al. Once again, James Toth ( Wooden Wand) will be producing along with Vulure Whale's Les Nuby doing the engineering. The team is being joined by musicians from Through the Sparks, The Briarwood Virgins and more. One of the tracks is available in demo form above.
"Not Me, But the Mountain" is a celebration of the disappearing small towns in America.
I spent twenty years wandering around the country. These songs are just a collection of my conversations with my mom( some real, some imagined) about the many places that I lived, things that I saw.
From the "New Circle Inn", a sort of follow up to Junkie's title track to the more rocking " Unwound", "Not Me, But the Mountain" is a much more aggressive and hook driven record than Junkie.
"Not Me, But the Mountain" will be released digitally and with a limited run of vinyl. The project is intended to fund the recording and then pressing of the lps. I really did not want to muddy the waters with a lot of silly offers that no one wanted. I just want to make the record and for people who want to hear it, to hear it. I hope you will consider being a part of my journey
