About this project
I FELL SILENT- A Film by Carson Lund and Michael Basta
I Fell Silent is a quiet, naturalistic horror film about Isaac, a young boy living with only his mother and grandmother in an opulent mansion that has been passed down through family history. Isaac is a confident yet solitary child who unthinkingly adheres to a rigid daily routine in which he goes to school and returns home to play with his dog, take care of his grandmother, complete homework assignments, and lounge around the house. However, his haunted imagination manages to slowly disrupt this pattern, and when his extended family arrives for his mother's annual Christmas party, the social and domestic boundaries he has casually developed are further eroded.
BACKGROUND
Hey friends, family, colleagues, peers, internet-browsers, and cinema-goers, welcome to our Kickstarter! Longtime collaborators Carson Lund and Michael Basta have been developing I Fell Silent for months now, and since writing the script, they have been working tirelessly alongside Producer Evan Wood and Director of Photography John Cico to develop it into a strong, meaningful work of cinema. At this point, the film is ready for the production stage, and as student filmmakers we rely heavily on the generosity of our loved ones and our fans to achieve our goals. Filmmaking is a costly endeavor, and though we have attempted to whittle our production costs down as much as possible, we are still unable to fund this on our own. We appreciate any and all donations you can offer!

The Directors
Carson Lund and Michael Basta grew up together in Nashua, New Hampshire and have collaborated on the 2010 short film Wind Through the Cradle, the 2011 short film Remedy in Phrases, a variety of promotional music videos for the Nashua/Boston indie rock band Old Abram Brown, an award-winning 2007-2009 short film series spanning over 80 minutes, and countless other video projects both small and large. They are intimately fascinated with characters in solitude from civilization, and have continued to focus on themes of memory and family throughout their lasting artistic partnership. Their greatest cinematic inspirations are the films of Bela Tarr, Ingmar Bergman, Andrei Tarkovsky, Pedro Costa, and Claire Denis, among many others. Director's Statement
Thank You!
We cannot express our gratitude enough for your visit to our Kickstarter page, and we sincerely hope you will be able to assist this unique and ambitious undertaking. To the right side of the page, you will find the rewards we are offering for the project, which we will have available upon the completion of I Fell Silent in June of 2012. At that time, we will be seeking festivals for the film, and the first step in that process is your help! Thank you.
