Blue Flame Synopsis

Ernest knew meeting Frank was a mistake.  He knew it as soon as he arrived in Kausia, a isolated desert city populated with disfigured peasants.  Frank had lured Ernest into a secret deal, a deal much like one made with the devil, a part played by the Shadow Walker named "Shuffle".  Now infected with the disease plaguing Kausia, Frank and Ernest have but one choice to find the cure in three days before their bodies wither into something unspeakable ... three days to find the Blue Flame.

Help Us Increase the Quality of our Publications

For the past three years Dim Media has been producing various 'zines and other short works of illustrated fiction. Our previous print publications have  been in typical "'zine" format: minimally designed and produced, printed at a copy shop and hand stapled. The great response we have received from these 'zines encouraged us to work on some more thorough stories and increase the production quality and distribution.

Midway through the writing process, we decided that "Blue Flame" would be the first of these higher quality publications. We produced formal character sketches before illustrating, had the book professionally edited, and even re-wrote and re-drew portions. We are currently having a graphic designer digitally layout the book (the book in the video is our initial draft). With your help, we'll have high quality prints of the "Blue Flame" in time for this year's Spring Con, Red Hot Art Fest, Twin Cities Zine Fest, and Minneapolis Indie Xpo!

What Your Funding Will Do

We will be able to independently publish 150 copies of the "Blue Flame" through Lightning Press. This give us a 32 page professionally bound book with full color gloss cover.  We will be able to sell these through our current 'zine/comic convention channels as well as explore other venues. Through bartering, we already have had the book professionally edited and laid out.

In a longer term sense, the profits of the sales from these books will help us fund the next book in the series as well as work on our distribution and marketing. This will  create a snow-ball effect that establishes the publishing side of Dim Media. We will publish the other stories the "Blue Flame" is part of as well as continue to publish our other 'zines and comics. By funding over our request amount, you are helping make this happen sooner, so please kickstart away!

Finally, $350 minimally covers our printing costs, so if you can help us raise more, we will put be able to print more copies,  cover booth fees for the various fests, and do some well needed marketing.

Original Painting - $300+
By donating $300 or more, you receive all of the above rewards as well as an original 18x36" painting of a scene from the Blue Flame. We are currently working on the painting and may be able to show progress shortly.
