We’re ready to deliver the farmers market to you!

We're launching REAL FORK for those of you that care about fresh, local and sustainable when it comes to what you eat. Purchasing quality products - or even knowing where those products come from - is a time consuming task. So we've married technology and convenience with the old fashioned (and best) way to purchase your goods: straight from the farmers or producers themselves. 

Think of REAL FORK as a hybrid of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture ) and a specialty market, except better. You get to choose all of the products you want to receive. There’s nothing you won’t like, or too much of one thing. Better yet, you won’t fight crowds or wait in long lines. 

Simply order online and your groceries are waiting with your name on them at a convenient pick up refrigerator located in your neighborhood. 

In addition to selling groceries, we also want to tell the story of the farmers and producers we source from and how we choose the products we sell through a series of stories and videos that explain why they are better.

See, we have arrived at a real fork in the road with regards to our entire food system. One road will allow us to build a resilient local food economy that supports farmers, ranchers and fishermen who bring amazing products to market and are true stewards of the land. The other road leads to our continued dependence on centralized, massively polluting industrial farming operations.

We want to make it easy to choose the right path!

We all love eggs. And there's good reason to: eggs contain the highest quality food protein known, and are the standard by which all other proteins are judged. In fact, eggs are second only to mother's milk for human nutrition.    

But in an attempt to efficiently supply us with all those eggs we love, farmers have resorted to all sorts of inhumane and ill advised farming practices - namely battery cages. 90% of US eggs come from hens raised in these terrible conditions. In a battery cage, a hen has less space available to it than the size of an A4 sheet of paper! 

Unfortunately, chickens that are raised in unhealthy and unsafe conditions lay eggs that are unhealthy and unsafe in nutrition. Not only do these eggs contain far less nutrients than their healthy counterparts, they can also contain harmful chemicals like antibiotics, hormones, and arsenic!

Luckily, consumers have caught on to these practices, and have demanded a response. That's why there are so many types of eggs out there: from ''vegetarian fed", to 'cage free', to ʻnaturalʼ, to ʻorganicʼ. The problem is that it seems like every month there is a new 'type' of egg out there, and it's impossible to keep up with what these names actually mean. So what's a person to do?

Well, that's where REAL FORK comes in. REAL FORK works tirelessly to find the healthiest and tastiest food (like pasture raised eggs) on the market, and ships it directly to you. You can think of them as curators, but instead of hand-picking artwork for a museum, we're hand-picking food for your home!

At REAL FORK, we are making the road to delicious local products an easy one by building a vibrant online marketplace to showcase the 'best of the best' in local, sustainable and artisan food. Living in the Bay Area, we are blessed with an abundance of amazing farmers, ranchers and chefs. We're gathering our favorite products and recipes directly from the people that produce them and have created a platform that makes them easy to purchase.  

We launched Realfork.com two months ago to a select group of friends, family & neighbors. The response has been overwhelmingly positive! 

Now we’re ready to provide all of you wonderful people convenient access to our marketplace of farmer’s market fresh items and artisan producers like these:

With these funds, REAL FORK will have 3-5 pick up spots available by the end of June. Our goal is to have a dozen convenient locations in every neighborhood by the end of the summer. We’d love nothing more than to offer our service in the East Bay and Peninsula by the end of the year!

We want to deliver all of the delicious goodness to you all over the Bay Area and beyond! These funds will make it happen! The more money we raise, the more pick up spots we’ll be able to add to our route.
