About this project

This 25-minute documentary is about the journey of three paddlers and the people, places and wildlife they encountered on a trip along the 740-mile Northern Forest Canoe Trail in the summer of 2011. The film will feature Mike Lynch, Ariel Diggory Lynch and Jacob Resneck. Mike paddled the entire trip, while Jacob and Ariel each joined him for roughly half of it.

The Northern Forest Canoe Trail starts in Old Forge, New York and ends in Fort Kent, Maine. Overall, the route passes through four states and one Canadian province: New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine and Quebec.

Mike is writing, editing and producing the documentary. Ariel and Jacob helped him film it.

The movie is scheduled to be shown in the spring and summer of 2012 during a paddling film festival series organized by the Northern Forest Canoe Trail. Lake Placid, N.Y., Tupper Lake, N.Y. and  Portland, Maine are among the places the movie will be shown.

It will also be submitted to other festivals and appropriate venues for showings.

The funds raised on kickstarter will be put toward expenses associated with editing and producing the film.
