About this project
Help us build a quality, outdoor repertory theatre in Ann Arbor!
We’re performers and players, minimalists and penny-pinchers. We think theatre should be fun and stirring, not stuffy or repetitive. We believe going to a show should not break the bank. And we find Michigan summer evenings beautiful.
Thus, we aim to produce dramas and comedies, musicals and original adaptations, classics and works by up-and-coming playwrights, all at once, in repertory, outside. We also venture indoors, for cabaret shows, commissioned shows, acting classes, and improv evenings. And you can see our summer season for the same price as a movie ticket. Sound exciting? We think so. We can’t wait to get started.
But we need your support.
The most important donor is the one who starts the company. We have a lot of work to do. Our inaugural season is well underway. We’re choosing plays and staff and tracking construction at the West Park Band Shell in Ann Arbor, where we hope to kick things off in August 2011 with our first season. But we’re also doing less theatrical things, like filing forms, and budgeting for royalties, rent, props, and sets. For all of the above--what we love to do and what we need to do--we need you.
