About this project
If a picture is worth a thousand words, then this documentary is worth millions!
Narrated by Public Enemy's Chuck D., the Untold Story of Detroit Hip Hop explores and uncovers the true beginnings of the Motor City rap scene. With over 40+ hours of raw footage to sift through- including tons of pre-fame Eminem and Kid Rock clips- The Untold Story of Detroit Hip Hop is a true who, where, when and how account of how everything REALLY happened.
Nearly forty Detroit pioneers have been interviewed to date including: Awesome Dre, The Blackman,Champtown, Detroit’s Most Wanted, Esham and many more. There are still several to go! With your help, Director/Producer Brian Harmon would like (and could in 8-12 weeks) to finish and mass release this documentary. If successful, he'd like to create a web or TV series, traveling to various major U.S. cities to unearth other true stories.
